Live life by proverbs?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. A proverb (from the Latin proverbium) is a pithy saying which gained credence through widespread or frequent use. Most proverbs express some basic truth or practical precept.

Hah - a pithy saying indeed. It's also a load of rubbish. I've just discovered there's an opposite saying for nearly every proverb!

An ass that travels abroad will not return as a horse OR Travel broadens the mind?
Many hands make light work OR Too many cooks spoil the broth?
He who hesitates is lost OR Look before you leap?
Nothing ventured, nothing gained OR A Bird in the hand is woth two in the bush....

And the list goes on.....

All these proverbs seem to be a waste of time, but I've discovered that if you mix your proverbs you can create a new Zen like proverb that are just as fun, and useful as the ones mentioned above.

For example -

A rolling stone is worth two in the bush or perhaps...
An ass that travels abroad speaks louder than words.

Makes you think doesnt it?
Truely the pen is mightier than the sword, that taken to the water, refuses to drink!
