I'm so sorry

That I cant be trusted to sit next to a child on a commerical airline flight... because I'm a man.

Why is it that we feel that we should always have someone around when we are playing with our friends kids. God forbid we hug them when they fall over and cry, or even love them enough to kiss them goodnight!

This is so sad - and also a abuse of our human rights. I have no idea how to make it better. Suggestions are welcome.

You know, that was one of the remarkable things about living in Turkey. Men loved kids ... they took them out, they were gentle and it was lovely to watch. I also noticed there was so much less repressed rage in the people there ... sure, they could do the arm-waving noisy argument but I felt safe most of the time.

It has become impossible to be male with children ... my American collegue and I were stunned when we first began working as teachers in Turkey and the students would hug us...how sad is that. We've lost a lot.
