Sap alert!

This trick almost never works

Here's a song i dedicate to those who survived the 80's with their dignity intact.

I hope this sort of thing still happens. In fact if this posts prompts just one person into taking their boom-box outside their loved ones window, in the attempt to woo, who is to say the world wouldn't be a better place! And if it's raining - all the better. I'm sure Cameron Crowe would approve.

Love; I get so lost, sometimes.
Days pass, and this emptiness fills my heart.
When I want to run away,
I drive off in my car.
But whichever way I go,
I come back to the place you are.

oh excellent - talk about synchronicity - I nearly posted 'I Go Crazy' in your honour yesterday as I picked up a copy of 'Some Kind of Wonderful' in a bookstore (yes I know it's a DVD!) and thought of you. I ended up spending ages strolling back through the 80s on YouTube and didn't post any of it! Love that film 'Say Anything' it contains the immortal line 'I gave her my heart and she gave me ...a pen'. Great stuff

Ahhh... Some Kind of Wonderful. The movie that started it all - and the reason why I continue to fall for girls with short hair to this day. Mary Stuart Masterson never looked so radiant. She is with out a doubt the best actress to come out of the 80's.
Then came The Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire, Dead Poets Society.. I never stood a chance really - did I? :)

She was brilliant in 'At Close Range' too though it's a hard film to watch as it's a true story. I agree though she is quite lovely and she outshone the 'pretty' girl in Some Kind of Wonderful

I liked the way they didnt marginalise Leah Thompsons role in Some Kind of Wonderful - even though she was pretty, she had important things to say, especially in regards to her relationship to Eric Stoltz's character.
I must dust off the DVD sometime - and as for "At close Range" I'll have to keep an eye out for it...
